Our goal at Camping for Hope is to help prepare homeless men and women on the Mississippi Gulf Coast for our cold wet winter. This year we anticipate equipping approximately 175 individuals. Supplies and volunteers are always needed!
ITEMS DONATED FOR CAMPING FOR HOPE ARE FOR AREA HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS
Location: The Elks Lodge vacant lot next to Shaggy's near Hwy. 90 & 15th Street in downtown Gulfport. Coast Transit Authority will provide complimentary transportation to and from the federal courthouse next to Mississippi Aquarium the morning of the event. Look for required vouchers at Gulf Coast Community Ministries, Feed My Sheep, Mental Health Association of South Mississippi, Salvation Army and Loaves & Fishes.
Schedule:
6 a.m. Site set up
7 a.m. Breakfast
8 a.m. Distribution begins until supplies are gone
10:30 a.m. Lunch to go
Noon - Event closes
HOW CAN YOU BE INVOLVED?
To sponsor items for this event, donate below. By donating, you are allowing us to purchase needed tents, coats, tarps, and supplies on your behalf!
You can also donate tents (two to six person tents, w/four-person tents needed most), sleeping bags (40 degree or lower), gloves, hats, new or great condition coats & sweaters, blankets, tarps (8x10 or bigger), small propane tanks, thin rope and other camping supplies.
Donations can be dropped off at Gulf Coast Community Ministries 9-11:30 a.m. each Tuesday & Thursday except holidays.
